AIGI Announces Entry into the Energy Infrastructure Integrity Market

American Infrastructure Group, Inc. is entering the energy corrosion and methane release inspection market utilizing artificial intelligence data management applications.

Houston, Texas – July 13, 2023 – American Infrastructure Group, Inc. (“AIGI”) is pleased to announce their entry into the energy sector infrastructure integrity market under the leadership of Dave Lafferty and Abe Shasha.

AIGI has created an Energy AI Division to address a broad range of energy infrastructure issues by adopting existing AIGI technology that will lower the carbon footprint of existing operations and accelerate the energy transition effort. The initial solutions will address corrosion detection and methane management problems. Corrosion costs the global energy industry over $2.5 trillion annually. We believe our addressable market for corrosion monitoring services is currently $289 million annually, growing to $3.1 billion by 2026. The methane monitoring and identification addressable market is approximately $86.2 billion currently and growing to $106 billion by 2028.

Dave Lafferty has been appointed President of the new division, with Abe Shasha as Vice President of Business Development.

Mr. Lafferty is the president of Scientific Technical Services (STS), a consulting firm focusing on the digitalization of the energy sector. He has served as an advisor to Aramco Investments, Intel Corp, ChampionX Corp, Yokogawa Electric Corp, and Emerson. He also serves on the board of directors of the Knowix Company. Dave is very active in the energy startup community including mentoring for the Rice Clean Energy Accelerator and Global Energy Mentors.

Before STS, Dave worked in the BP p.l.c.(BP) Chief Technology Office where he spearheaded a wide range of innovative projects, including wireless sensor systems including corrosion and passive sensors, predictive analytics for equipment health, and mobility projects. BP, one of the world’s largest companies, is a British multinational oil and gas company headquartered in London. Dave has a Bachelor of Science in computer science from University of Wisconsin – La Crosse.

Mr. Shasha has a 30 year background in sales management and leadership as worldwide sales leader for Honeywell International, Inc ‘s software team in their Industrial Control Group and on the executive team and sales leadership with Aspen Technology, Inc.

In addition, Abe has led successful ventures and transactions in various software and technology businesses in the process industries including ones with Yokogawa Electric Corporation, P2 Energy Solutions, Schlumberger Limited, and various financial firms. Abe has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Computer Science from the University of Waterloo in Ontario.
